According to its designer, Aubrey Powell, the whole concept of the images is “based on the band’s relationship with major businesses in general, and their record.. “Remember when you were young / You shone like the Sun.” “Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Pts. 1-5” is one of Pink Floyd’s most triumphant tracks to date, and it sets the stage for this absolute beast of an album entitled “Wish You Were Here”. The song is a magnificent ode and tribute to Syd Barrett, who was a childhood friend to Waters.
